Surveys report that the majority of workers are looking forward to being back at the office; however, feedback coming directly from the workers states exactly the opposite
I am a dancer, choreographer, Reiki Master, and founder of WE TAKE FIVE - a dancer-sourced healthtech startup.
I founded WE TAKE FIVE back in April 2020 to help you move throughout your day, using the body care tools (dynamic stretches, pressure points, small movements) that professional dancers and other athletes - the applied scientists of movement - use to take care of their bodies. All adapted to your space, your body, and your schedule. All 5 minutes at a time - the ultimate recess.
It has always been my mission to bond people together through movement, because no matter where we are coming from, it is in our blood.
In March of 2017 I attended the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW) Forum which inspired my evening length performance “USA: United Stories of America.” This talk show parody brought together dancers, filmmakers, musicians, professors, college and elementary school students, social activists, and even a chef, all coming from different cultural and demographic backgrounds. All gathered to share their stories only to learn just how much they have in common with someone who looks nothing like them.
Producing and choreographing this event put a big fat exclamation point next to my mission to create communal experiences through dance and movement and figure out a way to make movement an active part of your day-to-day routine, as opposed to an extracurricular activity.
This past March I produced an event called “MOVEMENT IS Workshop + Performance” in celebration of the UN CSW 2020. We brought together artists, fitness professionals, and social activists to create workshops that help you relate to movement and dance performance even if you don’t have an extensive movement background.
The forum was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID, but the artists came through as they usually do and “MOVEMENT IS” has become a seed for what we now know as WE TAKE FIVE.
